Privacy Policy
How Wake Logger collects, uses, shares, and protects account data, vessel records, uploaded trip logs, media, billing data, and public sharing settings.
Effective April 13, 2026.
Information We Collect
Wake Logger stores information you provide directly, including account details, profile data, vessel records, crew information, uploaded GPS or NMEA files, trip notes, uploaded media, and settings that control public sharing. We also store operational metadata such as audit events, access logs, device or browser information, and service diagnostics needed to operate and secure the platform.
How We Use Information
We use stored data to provide the service, reconstruct and analyze trips, manage vessel access, support qualification workflows, process uploads, provide billing and account management, improve reliability, and investigate abuse, fraud, data loss, and security issues.
Public Sharing and Visibility
Trips, profiles, vessels, and uploaded media are private by default unless you explicitly publish or share them through Wake Logger features. If you make a record public, the route, summary data, linked media, and any other fields shown by that feature can become visible to other users and to the public internet.
If you upload content into a shared vessel workspace, the vessel owner may also have the ability to publish supported trip, vessel, or media content publicly using Wake Logger’s sharing controls. That means content you contributed to a shared vessel record can become publicly visible if the vessel owner later publishes it.
Payments and Stripe
Paid subscriptions and trials are processed by Stripe. Wake Logger does not store full payment card numbers. We receive limited billing data from Stripe such as customer identifiers, subscription and invoice references, product selection, billing interval, status, trial timing, tax or billing-address details Stripe makes available, and customer-portal events needed to grant, manage, renew, or cancel access.
Service Operations and Security
Operational logs, audit records, upload job history, and account activity may be retained to keep the service functioning, diagnose failures, support users, and protect the platform. Wake Logger applies reasonable technical and organizational controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Service Communications and Marketing
Wake Logger may send service-related messages about account access, uploads, billing, security, vessel activity, or other operational events. If Wake Logger sends marketing communications, they will be handled in line with applicable law, including Australian consent and unsubscribe requirements where those rules apply.
Retention and Deletion
We retain account, vessel, trip, billing, and audit data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce platform rules. Public content can remain accessible until you change its visibility or remove it. Some backups and audit records may persist for a limited period after deletion.
Your Choices
You can update account details, manage subscription status from the billing page, control public sharing for supported records, and contact us about account or privacy questions. If you need help with data access, deletion, or billing concerns, use the Support or Contact pages or email hello@wakelogger.com.
Australian Privacy Law
Wake Logger is intended to handle personal information in a manner consistent with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and, where applicable, the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. If an eligible data breach occurs and Australian law requires notification, affected individuals and the regulator will be notified as required.
International Processing
Wake Logger may process and store information using cloud infrastructure, object storage, payment processors, and service providers that operate in multiple jurisdictions. By using the service, you understand that data may be transferred and processed outside your home jurisdiction where permitted by law.
Updates
We may update this policy when the product, billing workflow, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
